Privacy

What The Records Desk collects, which is very little.

What is collected

The Records Desk is a set of static pages. There is no account, no login, no newsletter and no comment form, so nothing here asks you for a name, an address or an email.

Two things are recorded even so, and it would be inaccurate to imply otherwise. Cloudflare serves these pages and logs the standard request data — IP address, user agent, URL, response code, timestamp — because that is how a page is delivered and how abuse is spotted. Each page also loads a small counting image that records the fact of a view. It sets no cookie, does not try to identify you, and reports to no advertising network.

What is not collected

No cookies are set here. There is no advertising network, no cross-site tracking, no analytics product building a profile, and no sale or sharing of data with third parties.

Pages link outward, mostly to government references. Those sites keep their own policies and this notice does not reach them.

Retention

Request logs are kept for a limited operational period and used only for delivery, security and counting traffic in aggregate.

The contact page sets out how corrections are handled.
